Soccer Season

We were breathing soccer for April and much of May!  Quin and Sophie were our soccer players this year.  Zach and Klara (and of course Mom & Dad) were the cheerleaders.

This was Sophie's first year playing, and I must admit, that as a parent this is the funnest, and also the most frustrating age to watch.  Sophie ran after that ball with gusto, when she wasn't too busy with collecting sticks, and dandelions on the field.  She is small, so she trailed the bunch most of the time, but she managed to be very proud of the kicks that she did get in.  My favorites were the times the ball came and stopped at her feet, but she was too busy watching the birds in the sky to notice, until the whole pack of kids were about on top of her!

Quin loves soccer, and has been playing since he was Sophie's age.  He wanted to try competitive soccer this year, but mom was not up for the extra that would involve...so we kept with the Recreational soccer that we have enjoyed.  Quin's team named themselves the "Pumas".  Quin is a go getter - quick and determined - though still the little guy.  He did a great job of sticking to the ball, and had a great time getting better at being goalie.  He had a great encouraging coach (Leta Allen), and learned a lot from her this year.
