Another Powell Adventure: Back to School!

Back to School!

We have now been "Back to School" for two whole weeks now! What's new this year?

Zach & Quin are in the 4th Grade!
Sophie started Kindergarten!
We are trying out Thomas Edison Charter School this year!
Picking our clothes to wear each morning is a breeze with the "dress code" at our school. Plain color shirts with collars and no jeans.
Zach and Quin both take home lunch every day.
No more yellow school bus... now it is the "Daddy Bus" in the morning, the "Mommy Bus" drives to Kindergarten, and the "Mommy Bus / Friend Bus" brings the kids home.
We get to start on homework 1/2 hour earlier than last year!

Making lots of new friends

Shining Moments!

	The other day Sophie and Klara were playing princess. They came up to me and explained about their princess game... And informed me that I was to be the maid and was to do all of the cooking and cleaning for them and also help them with whatever else they wanted. Somehow, to me it sounds more like reality than a princess game... ;). 7/18/15 Last week Sophie informed me that "today at school I found out for sure that I really am a monkey! I found out that you got me from the zoo!" As if that wasnt enough to make me smile...that night while Sophie was saying her prayers, she asked that when she woke up that she would find that during the night had grown lots of fuzzy brown hair all over her body so that she would be a real monkey. 3/16/14 All of the snow this week turned to slush and flooding. The voles got flushed out and started showing up in our window wells. Zach noticed them today while we were checking for water in the basement. One in particular was climbing in and out of holes in the window screen. Zach with a big grin on his face decided to name him E-vole! We are quite proud of his wit! 2/9/14 Aunt Melissa was visiting for our birthday weekend. She was feeding 6 week old Trevor (what a cutie) and Sophie felt the need to join her. We missed the picture of Sophie trying to "feed her baby" with her doll stuck up under her shirt! 1/?/13 Two year old Klara has recently discovered how to give a big kiss on the cheek. For the last 10 minutes she sat here on the chair beside me giving slobbery kisses and laughing...til she got the hiccups! I now have a slobbery smiley face....I love my girl. :) 2/11/13
	Was helping Quin with a cub scout requirement today. He is supposed to start a collection and organize it in a nice way..then show and explain it to someone. Quin went to his room and returned a few minutes later with a box full of socks from his drawer. LOL! Gotta give him a point for ingenuity but I convinced him to try something else. He decided that a cool collection of stamps from envelopes received would be better. 1/21/13
	So I was getting dressed this morning and heard my two girls in the bathroom. Went to investigate and found my almost two year old sitting on the potty while her helpful four year old sister read her a potty training book! She had helped her little sister remove her diaper and get the step to climb on the potty. Maybe she can do the potty training for me this time around! 9/27/12
