Hardware

After 9 long months Zach will no longer have to worry about potentially setting off metal detectors. Tuesday was the big day for his hardware removal. The rod and screws that have been part of his right leg since March 16th can now be placed on the shelf as a reminder of the hard thing that he went through yet handled so marvelously.

Zach had to check in for surgery at 6:30am on Tuesday.   He was in surgery by 7:30, and back to his room by 9:00.  The surgery went well, and Zach is a trooper.  He had a hard time with the anesthesia, and so was quite nauseous the whole morning.

We got home just before 2pm, and by then his system was clear and he began to do better.  His leg is very sore, but he can put weight on it if he wants to.  He is using a walker for a few days to ease the soreness till it feels a little better.

Proud to show off his trophy hardware to anyone who wants to see.  You are a strong boy Zach.  Keep it up!
