Another x-ray posted on Facebook and the most common response from friends was "Not Again!! Who is it this time?"
Some people seem to always be dealing with sicknesses in their family. We seem to too often be dealing with broken bones.
Broken arm for Sophie in August of 2012, and a broken femur for Zach in March 2013, and now this.
This time it was Klara. A wonderful end to a piano recital at our church building...I have always said that kids and stages don't mix. The grown-ups were chatting and the kids running around the gym eager to expend a last burst of energy for the day. Monkey see monkey do... Klara must have watched the big kids sit on the end of the stage and jump to the floor. But being so small it didn't exactly happen the way she thought it would.
Daddy came to investigate and promptly brought her to Mommy. One look at the forearm and it just popped out..."Oh Crap, she broke it."
Another trip to the ER (seems like we should have a private room by now) and the portable x-ray revealed a green stick break to one bone and the other bone had a buckle break.
She was a tough little thing in the hospital. Not really too upset...until they put the IV in. A necessary evil. You wouldn't even know her arm was broken by the way she waved it around and tried to use it! It was kind of freaky when they put her under and her eyes glazed over and only closed halfway! It was sad to watch them set the bone in that tiny little arm. By the time we were done she was sooo tired!
Through the weekend she was still a little trooper, and by Sunday we were having to remind her to be careful, and to stop running! Monday was casting day and she is proud to sport her new purple sparkly cast.
