Another surgery to recover from as we enter this new year. On the last Friday of the year, I had the second foot surgery, this time to fix the toes on the left foot. It has definately not been as sore as the first foot was. The right foot is doing well, and I got to start walking on it the day before my surgery. I used a walker for a few days to keep my balance, but I hobble around just fine now without it. The doc says it is healing slower than he had hoped so it is still in a boot, except for when I drive (yea! I can drive again!), but I may get to wear a regular shoe by next week! There is a lot of scar tissue built up in the first two toes...and it really hurts when I stretch them like the doc said to. On a side note, I also invited another doctor into the OR since I was already in there, to take care of another matter that will hopefully help me keep up with and play with my kids better. I am bouncing back pretty well from it so far - I just don't get to lift kids and heavy things for a few weeks.
As a start... This year, I resolve to:
- Play with my Kids more
- more picnics, hikes, parks, and one-on-one time
- "Study" my Scriptures more
- Yell at my kids less
- De-clutter my bedroom and keep it that way
- Do some crafty projects..perhaps a sampler quilt
- Bake bread or rolls at least once a month
Let's make some rolls together...I just have perfected my favorite recipe! Heal quickly!
