Patchwork

Our lives are like a patchwork. So many pieces go into the design. Sometimes you can look at a block and immediately see it's beauty. But sometimes you must step back to see the beauty that was created by what was added. Sometimes what you think of as a mistake will just add character to a piece instead of marring it. Not everything must look symetrical and orderly. There is great beauty found in the crazy patch borders of our lives. Each block, infused with its colors shapes and variety, represents an experience, a person, a chapter in life. All of the pieces, ones that make us happy as well as unhappy are important to the quilt. The making of a friend, a birth, a success, the loss of a friend or loved one. The beautiful and magical as well as the tragic, the atrocious, and the meaningless we deal with adds purpose to our quilt. As we view our completed quilts of this life hanging on the walls of heaven, we will think back on what it took to make each patch...the strength, the talent, the tears and the love. And then we will begin a new one.
I know what you've been reading! I am glad you are loving the series. I'm re-reading them and loving them all over again. We need to start a quilt!
