Anniversary Month! 12 Years Ago, we became a family!
For this month, we were lucky to have John's parents come and visit, and babysit so that John and I could have some time away from everything. Though we didn't end up going very far, we had a good time, and got some much needed time to relax and recharge.
We got to check out a fun historic place - the Old Rock Church in Providence. We stayed in the elegant Presidential Suite. Our weekend away also included dinner at the HuHot, watching the movie Captain Philips, exploring up Providence canyon, and shopping.
To finish up our time away, we went on an Adventure Date Night at the USU Ropes Course.
We made some new friends - the Keens & the Ricks, along with our facilitator, Patrick Bentley. This was a two hour adventure in which we gained valuable insight for our partnership, learned to improve our communication skills, problem solving skills and challenged ourselves on both low and high activities. The low activities were insightful and fun. We enjoyed them and learned some new ways of thinking. Unfortunately because of the early sunset, we only had time to do one high adventure. It was "The Swing", and it was awesome!
John was the first one to go, and despite the nervousness, he pulled his own cord, and got a great ride.
When it was finally my turn, because the facilitator had learned that this was familiar to me because of my rappelling experience, he gave me an extra challenge. So without telling the others, I flipped my feet up before pulling my cord, so that I was swinging upside-down! What a rush! (head rush too!) We had some technical difficulties, so we didn't get much video of that part, but it was enough. We have added some great memories!
